The Lush Theme is built using the LivingOS Theme Framework. Please see user guides in the Codex for all common theme features.

Theme Specific Guides

Setting Up Your Homepage

The homepage is empty when you first install the theme. You must create some features to populate the slider and then drag some widgets into the homepage widget areas. By giving you a blank canvas to work with, the homepage is very flexible.

You can download files to import our demo set-up if you prefer.

The image below shows how we chose to set-up the demo site for Lush.

The theme uses one menu, which should be built using the standard WordPress Menu Builder.

You can also add menus to sidebars and footer using the Custom Menu Widget.

Image Sizes

When using Lush, WordPress creates the following post images/thumbs from the images you upload.

  • Widgets : 360 x 180
  • Slider : 1140 x 300
  • Single : 798 x 360
  • Gallery : 512 x 256

Your original images should be at least the biggest size you intend to use in both dimensions. So if you are using feature images in the slider they should be 1140×300 pixels or greater. This is a responsive theme so your browser resizes these to fit your desktop.

Page Templates

The theme comes with a number of page templates that can be used to produce different types of layout and content. These include:

  • a blog (post formats) template
  • a blog (with images) template
  • a gallery template
  • a wide page template

These templates can be selected from the page template dropdown when editing any page in the WordPress dashboard. Templates can be controlled using custom fields, which are summarised below.

Custom Fields

There are a number of custom fields used by the theme that can be used control features and content. These are summarised here.
