This is unlikely to be added to our event post type. There are plenty of other solutions.

Try Event Organiser if you want recurring events for free or The Events Calendar Pro.

The problem with the share buttons is they are coming from twitter and facebook. I would suggest disabling share buttons if going ssl.

Or replace them with basic links as we have done in our Grow theme, which does not rely on pulling the external buttons. instead they are simple links.

You are right, Grow doesn’t have five columns right now.

Sorry for slow response, but are you still needing help with this?

    A) – you seem to have logo workign?

    B) – there is no widget for the slider

    C) – Not quite sure what you are asking here?

    D) – You can adjust menu spacing with a bit of css. Mostly by adding custom CSS for:
    .nav-menu a {
    padding: 9px 1.5em;
    }

    1. You must have front page set to “Latest Posts”. This then uses the theme’s default home page with widget areas. If you use a static page, then you are building your own home page and home areas are no longer relevant.

    2. Usually CSS, You need to be more specific about what you are hoping to do.

In Theme Options->Extras set “Show title/description” and it will show where your logo currently is.

Actually, I think I may have found a bug on blog template.

Please re-download the theme. It should fix things.

If you send a login to the dashboard via contact form or direct to Tim’s e-mail we’ll take a closer look!

    But…
    Your resource page is

    http://www.bmf-uk.org/resources

I assume your child pages are the ones you haev links to at the top:

    http://www.bmf-uk.org/r_sources/the-journal

So your urls suggest that they are not child pages of the resources page they are children of:
    http://www.bmf-uk.org/r_sources/
    Which doesn’t exist.

So there is something wrong with how these pages are set-up, but without access to dashboard we are just guessing.

    We always use this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/

Upload all your files using ftp, overwrite everything and then use this plugin to create a export of your database. The plugin lets you change the domain and path on export so that it will work first time on your new installation.

You can import the database using MyPhPAdmin which is usually found in your hosts control panel.

If your database name and login is different on your new site then you just need to edit wp-config.php as well.

    With regards the pages questions:

The category_name is only relevant if you are using a template which is designed to list posts, like the gallery or blog templates.

The blog template will show child pages (if there are pages with parent set to your blog page) in the sidebar on the page with the blog template. But the menu will not appear when you navigate to a single post, since the single post is not a “page”!!?

Sorry, forgot the feature images stuff:

Feature images are used in this theme for thumbnails of posts in the show posts/pages widget and in the gallery and blog with images templates etc.

Posts will show the feature image if the option is selected in Display Options for that post. But this is not enable for pages (though can be customised through a filter in code if required).

Also worth using the demo files for a quick start http://themeloom.com/support/theme-demo-import-files/.

You don’t need the shortcode if you use the page template. The template does the work for you. Remove the shortcode.

OK, quite a few questions here:

    1. Menus – the main menu is only single level by design. Child pages will instead appear in the right sidebar on a page.

    2. Feature images –

    3. Blog with images – templates use custom fields to modify behaviour. See http://themeloom.com/support/framework-codex/controlling-features-with-custom-fields/

So to change category set category_name to the category slug.

    4. Front page setting – this should be set to show posts. The front page is configured using widgets rather than have a separate page template as in some other themes. A static page would simply replace the front page with a simple page of choice.

    5. Changing width of page elements – not quite sure what you mean. But there is a page-wide template that lets you have a full width page without a sidebar.

    6. Contact forms can be added with a number of plugins, such as ninja forms, gravity forms, grunion contact form (as used by wordpress.com) or contact form 7. It is our view that this kind of functionality should not be loaded into the theme.

    7. Tag Line – do you mean the sub heading field on the edit page fro a page? The sub heading appears directly under the title of the page as a sub-heading.

And sorry for delay in replying to your questions. Let us know if we can help further.

Do the events all show in the Events page in the dashboard? Do they all belogn to the homegroup category. Try without the category attribute.

    [los_events date_format="l, jS F" time_format="g:ia" num_posts="10" date_window="365" category="" ]

There is also a button in the Visual editor to insert the event shortcode.

You can also use the event page template to show latest events. Create a new page and select Events page template. This is probably a better option for what you are trying to do here

The page template will use a custom field “category_name” too.

Are your sermons stored as posts or are you suing a plugin like Sermon Manager?

But really just need to create a custom query. You could wrap this in a shortcode if you want re-use on several pages. Or create a page template that does the work. You certainly don’t need a child theme!

The theme includes a blog template which can show all posts from a specified category. Which is pretty close to what you are asking. You could copy this template and simply change the query so that is queries based on tag rather than category. Or if you used categories rather than tags it would work out of the box!

There are plenty of threads on this in the wordpress.org forums. The issue is a common Jetpack issue and might be worth contacting GoDaddy about it.

    Try usual things:
    -disable all plugins
    – reset to default theme
    – etc

I have moved this topic to General thread, since it is not theme related.
