    The footer of the demo shows a widget that contains round social buttons. Where is this widget? I don’t see it on the list of widgets.

    To clarify a bit, I see ThemeLoom-Show Events and the Twitter widget on the widgets page, so some are getting through. But I don’t see the social menu.

    Thanks Kate for mentioning this in the Xi discussions. Tom, I’m cross posting from my original question here: http://themeloom.com/forums/topic/social-media-icons/#post-3647

    Tom mentioned that I should be able to activate the social media buttons by ensuring

    add_theme_support( ‘livingos_share_buttons’ );

    wasn’t commented out.

    Per your directions, I’m looking at my functions.php and see this:

    // Set up theme defaults and register support for features.
    if ( ! function_exists( 'los_base_setup' ) ):
      function los_base_setup() {
    	//get theme options
    	$options = get_option( 'livingos_theme_options' );
    	//  post thumbnails
    	add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );
    	// thumb sizes
    	//create menus - replace this with your own menu setup if needed.
    	//framework features this theme supports
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_custom_widgets' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_event_manager' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_features' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_pagination' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_twitter_widget' );
    	//slider component option
    	if ( isset($options['slider-component']) ){
    		if ( $options['slider-component'] == "flexi" ) {
    			add_theme_support( 'livingos_flexi_slider' );
    		} else {
    			add_theme_support( 'livingos_feature_slider' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_google_fonts' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_share_buttons' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_shortcodes' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_breadcrumbs' );
    	add_theme_support( 'livingos_ajaxpagination' );
    	//add buddypress support if enabled in theme options
    	if ( isset($options['enable-buddypress']) ){
    	if ( $options['enable-buddypress'] && livingos_bpexists() ) {
    		add_theme_support( 'livingos_buddypress' );

    I do not see “//” in front of the add_theme_support( ‘livingos_share_buttons’ ); so I’m guessing that there’s something really really basic I’m missing.

    Can you assist?

    These are 2 separate things

    1 – at the bottom of the page is a Custom Menu widget that refers to a custom menu, which has the links to social media e.g. to your facebook page.
    See the codex setting up menus for instructions.

    2 – icons under posts, so people can like or +1 or tweet the post.

    In my functions.php file I see the following:
    add_theme_support( ‘livingos_google_fonts’ );
    //add_theme_support( ‘livingos_share_buttons’ );
    add_theme_support( ‘livingos_shortcodes’ );

    You can find / edit out the // using Appearance then editor, however there are several function.php files listed. When editing the title shows: LivingOS Lush: Theme Functions (functions.php)

    Remember to re-edit it if the theme gets updated / re-installed.

    Roger is correct. You seem to be mixing up two different features. Social icons can be added to menus. See the codex – http://themeloom.com/support/framework-codex/setting-up-menus/

    The add_theme_support( ‘livingos_share_buttons’ ); line puts share this links below posts.

    Thanks for the responses, everyone.

    Just to comment, though, I thought this feature was a widget because it appeared in the demo on a page called Custom Widgets. It looks good in the sidebar, but maybe a little clarifying text below the icons, such as (Use Custom Menus), might help out newbies such as myself.

    Thanks for the feedback Kate. Added comment to codex on menus.
