Upon deleteing version 2.7 and the FTPing up v2.8 the following error happens:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function livingos_head_title() in /home/stevensw/public_html/wp-content/themes/LivingOS_Xi/header.php on line 20

    Please advise.

Now after deleting v2.8 and reuploading I get the following:

Fatal error: fatal flex scanner internal error–end of buffer missed in /home/stevensw/public_html/wp-content/themes/LivingOS_Xi/base/lib/widgets/flickr-widget.php on line 39

Because you get different errors following 2 uploads, this looks like your FTP upload may have encountered disruptions / corrupted files (or original files may have not been deleted / overwritten).

Perhaps you can re-try with a different FTP method.
I usually just use the wordpress theme upload option, it is also possible to unzip locally and upload using an FTP program like FileZilla.

    Hope this helps.

I think Roger is right. These errors are typical of corrupted upload/missing file.
