    Hi

    I’d like to modify the buddypress menu because I want to add icons and leave out an item or two. However I found out that there is no support in BuddyPress for this yet.

    So my next option is to remove the

    <?php bp_get_displayed_user_nav(); ?>

    and replace it with a custom WP menu.

    How can I add a secondary menu with your theme? I see there are several function.php files but am not sure where to make the changes.

    Thanks

    The theme includes a menu in the header which is created by a function livingos_main_menu() in header.php.

    Your question though seems to relate to BuddyPress navigation which is handled by BuddyPress itself through bp_get_displayed_user_nav().

    This function is called by \member\single\home.php in the theme. There are a couple of hooks you could use here to add in new functionality (see WP codex about using hooks).
